Absorbent Products' underpads are produced by technically advanced production methods and machinery which transform virgin paper pulp into superior absorbent sheets. This method is adapted from the technology currently used to produce the modern incontinence pad inserts, briefs, ladies sanitary pads and baby nappies - all of which use super absorbent powder as an additive to obtain maximum absorption and fluid retention. For the first time ever, super absorbent powder has been used to produce underpads. Our technically advanced underpads render the old style pads obsolete and unhygienic in today's modern health care environment.

New Technology Sheet Type Information

• First Layer
Blue plastic outer backing sheet not glued to the inner absorption sheet, thus allowing the moisture to be retained between the 1st and 2nd layers. The pad is sealed on all sides to retain the moisture wholly within.

• Second Layer
A process using a solution of paper pulp and super absorbent powder is moulded by a heat process to create a thin super absorbent sheet. It is then fused to the upper or third layer of non woven fabric (NWF) to form a strong sheet type pad. The result is a thin sheet with excellent absorption qualities, which retains a large quantity of fluid within a small area. The super absorbent powder quickly draws fluid deep into the sheet, leaving the surface layer dry. The sheet’s surface remains soft and damp ready for re-use. The middle layer remains damp, serving to reduce odour.

• Third Layer, Exposed Face
This consists of a strong non woven fabric (NWF) which is fused to the second layer for the purpose of forming a firm fixed silky surface. This, combined with the thin non-fluff middle sheet, eliminates the fluff and dust problems inherent in old technology pads currently being used.

• Superior Qualities:
These attributes result in hygienic use and disposal, plus longer usable life of the product (labour saving and economical). The most efficient method of determining the product’s worth is by a physical test under actual conditions. After adding water to the pad, the visual and physical results will confirm the dramatic superiority when compared with the old technology tissue ply and pulp pads currently in use.
